First Aid for Children Today (F.A.C.T.)


Help children ages five to eight understand the important role they have in managing their own health and safety as well as the health of the environment in which they live.



Learning Objectives

  • Introduce an awareness of behaviors and actions that could lead to injuries or illness.
  • Provide children with ways to prevent injuries.
  • Provide children with first aid skills to respond to injuries.
  • Encourage children to make choices that will influence their health and the environment in a positive way.


Suggested minimum:10 to 14 hours for the entire program (optional activities may be included). The approximate time per unit is 2 hours.


Classroom teachers in elementary schools, caregivers, youth leaders, and others who work with children in learning environments. No prior health and safety training is necessary.
